The Yoyo House Programs: Nurturing Holistic Growth
At The Yoyo House, a licensed home daycare in Clairemont, San Diego, we believe in educating the whole child. Our programs are designed to foster each child's emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development through a blend of nurturing care and intentional learning experiences. We offer two programs for children aged 1 to 3: Full-Time and Morning, both centered on responsive caregiving and age-appropriate instruction that honors the six rights of learning and explores the five areas of experience.
Our mixed-age setting promotes cooperation, empathy, and leadership skills. Children from 18 months onwards engage in a structured, play-based curriculum that supports holistic development through purposeful activities, storytelling, music, and exploration.

-
8:00 – 8:45 AM | Drop-Off and Welcoming: We welcome children into a calm, predictable space that fosters emotional security. Free play, sensory materials, and connection activities help ease the morning transition. This encourages children to coexist and participate in a welcoming environment.
-

-
9:30 – 10:30 AM | Curriculum Time: Guided Learning Experiences: Children 18 months and older engage in structured, hands-on learning designed to support:
-
Social-Emotional Development (The self, the other and us): Storytelling and group play foster social skills and emotional intelligence.
-
Creative Expression (Traces, sounds, colors, and shapes): Music, movement, color, and texture stimulate creativity and self-expression.
-
Language and Imagination (Listening, speaking, thinking and imagination): Songs, conversation, and books enhance language development and imaginative thinking.
-
Cognitive Growth: Sensory materials, cause-and-effect exploration, and natural observation encourage cognitive development.
-
Emergent Understanding of the World (Spaces, times, quantities, relationships and transformations): Interactive, real-world experiences help children understand their surroundings. Our curriculum, which you can explore in detail on our [Curriculum Page], is developmentally aligned, intentionally planned, and responsive to children's interests and rhythms.

Children are offered diapering or potty time every two hours. A short, limited screen experience (nursery rhymes) helps children settle and prepare emotionally for going home.
